The Brief
In July, Klinsmann released a new single titled Something Real, a song that delves into emotional struggles, the pursuit of authenticity, and the search for genuine happiness. We had the opportunity to collaborate with Klinsmann to create the artwork for the single.
Our Approach
To craft the artwork, we began by analysing the song’s lyrics to fully grasp its core message. Through this process, we identified three key emotional states of the artist: exhaustion, realisation, and revival. At the heart of the song is a deep yearning for something authentic and real.
The chosen artwork portrays a raw, real-life depiction of a human heart, emphasising the song’s focus on authenticity. The heart symbolises the essence of true happiness, representing that which is genuine and alive. This imagery also ties to the idea that anything truly real is living, vibrant, and beating. The typography reinforces this bold theme, while the colour palette enhances the overall impact of the design, adding to its striking and raw appeal.
Conclusion
It was a pleasure to work with Klinsmann on the design for his latest single, Something Real. Through bold imagery and powerful typography, we successfully translated the emotional depth and authenticity of his vision into a visually compelling piece of artwork.
