As part of the exciting project for this year’s KSU student fest, ‘Alice in Bormla’, we put a creative spin on traditional playing cards. The cards created by our creative studio put a local twist on traditional playing cards by featuring a mix of local Maltese elements, such as pastizzi, the Bormla church, figolli, Saint’s crown and even a BCRS machine. Of course, we also had to include classic Alice in Wonderland elements such as teacups, teapots, roses and mushrooms. We illustrated 52 individual cards in our own fun style. We also added a couple of new characters specifically designed to fit the ‘Alice in Bormla’ adaptation, including the Queen’s assistant and the KSU mascot.
These one-of-a-kind playing cards will be available for purchase exclusively at the students’ fest in April.
