A Celebration Rooted in Culture and Designed for the Future
Festa Tal-Festi wasn’t just an event. It was a cultural moment with a long-term vision. Co-created by our founder Yanis Azzopardi and Daniel Cauchi, the initiative set out to introduce school children across Malta to the real soul of the Maltese festa, far beyond what we perceive Maltese feasts are.
At its core, the Maltese festa is about people, tradition, artistry, and community. It’s about rituals that bring towns together, colours that tell stories, and music that moves through generations. Festa Tal-Festi took all of that energy and repackaged it in a way that felt relevant for a younger audience while honouring the roots of the tradition.

Design That Bridges Generations
Our role extended beyond visuals. We helped shape an identity that would speak to school children, teachers, parents, festa enthusiasts, and curious atendees. The event needed to feel festive but educational, vibrant but respectful to tradition. It had to appeal to a ten-year-old seeing festa culture for the first time and to the lifelong band club member who sees it as a calling.
We developed the branding, created and rolled out the social media campaign, worked closely with Daniel Cauchi on event planning, and designed the official festa booklet, distributed to school children across the country. Every part of the experience, from the posters to the programme, was built with purpose. This wasn’t about decoration. It was about planting something lasting.

Purpose Beyond Aesthetics
Some projects are about look and feel. Others are about leaving something behind. Festa Tal-Festi belongs to the second category. When you design something that reaches schools, educates kids, and reframes how people see tradition, you’re doing more than branding, you’re shaping how future generations connect to culture.
It felt special to create something that was both playful and meaningful. The kind of work that doesn’t just attract attention but helps preserve a legacy.

Keeping Traditions Alive, Creatively
The Maltese festa is recognised by UNESCO for a reason. It’s an expression of identity. Of joy. Of community. Festa Tal-Festi showed that we can reintroduce that identity to the next generation without losing any of its magic. Through design, storytelling, and thoughtful planning, we helped reframe the festa not as a thing of the past but as something children can grow into with pride.
At Ponder & Pitch, that’s the work we want to be known for. The kind that brings the past into the future, beautifully.
